Frequently Asked Questions

How do I schedule an appointment?

You can now request appointments through Klara, a secure and confidential messaging app.  Click the purple Message Us button on the right-hand corner of your screen to send us a message, or text us from your cell phone at (360) 523-1868.  You can also call our office at (360) 676-1470 to speak to a scheduling representative.

Why haven’t I received a call about my results when I can see them through my Peacehealth patient portal?

All results are reviewed by your provider prior to being uploaded to your DLCNW patient portal, even though they may be available on other portals such as MyChart. Once your provider has signed off on your results, a member of our clinical staff will contact you with the information and any follow-up action needed. Please allow up to 7 business days for results to be reviewed.

What happens if I can’t make my scheduled appointment?

Please notify us within 48 hours of your appointment if you need to cancel or reschedule. Patients who fail to reschedule within this time frame or do not show up to their appointment may be charged a no-show fee.

How do I get a refill of my prescription?

Please contact your pharmacy for all refill requests. They will contact DLC if a new prescription is needed from our providers. If you need your medication sent to a different pharmacy, please ask your current pharmacy to transfer your prescription to the desired location.

Can I bring my child to my appointment?

Children or other minors are not allowed in the exam rooms during surgery, biopsy, or laser treatment appointments.  Children may not be left unattended in the waiting room during a parent or guardian’s appointment. We appreciate patients arranging childcare arrangements prior to their scheduled appointment. We reserve the right to reschedule appointments for patients who do not follow this or other guidelines.

Can I send a picture of a spot of concern to my provider?

While we can accept pictures sent by text or email to our practice, you will still be required to schedule an appointment with your provider to review any acute or urgent medical issues. Your pictures will be saved into your patient chart for reference during your appointment.

Billing Frequently Asked Questions

How do I pay my bill?

You can pay online through your patient portal at dermandlaser.ema.md. If you do not have a login, please contact our office to get registered.  We also accept payments by phone or in person during business hours.

I have insurance, but I received a bill from DLCNW. Do I still have to pay this?

Yes, we bill all patient insurances for medical services, however you may still owe towards your insurance deductible or coinsurance.  Because we are a specialty practice, most office visits are not considered preventative and will go towards your plan’s deductible.  If you have questions, please review your explanation of benefits from your insurance provider or contact them directly.

I have Medicare, why am I being billed for services?

Medicare has a yearly deductible that patients must meet before the plan pays for services.  The current deductible for 2024 is $240.

Why did I receive a text about my balance with DLCNW, but I have not received a paper statement?

Texts are automated and sent as soon as the balance is posted to your account.  A paper statement will be sent with an explanation of charges but may take 5-7 business days to arrive to your address.

Why am I being billed when I already made a payment during my office visit?

If you had cosmetic services performed during a medical visit (i.e. skin tag removal) you may have been asked to make payment for any procedures not covered by insurance on the day of service.  Any additional billing charges may be for your deductible or co-insurance for medical services.  Please reach out to our billing department with any questions.
